About Tholera decimalis Poda, 1761

Technical description and variation: The wingspan of Tholera decimalis ranges from 38 to 48 mm. The forewing is olive fuscous with a purple tinge, and all veins are white. The inner and outer lines are double and black. The submarginal line is whitish, preceded by black wedge-shaped spots. The claviform stigma matches the ground colour, outlined with whitish and black, and has a pale linear centre. The upper stigmata have white rings with olive centres, and the reniform stigma has a curved pale line at its centre. In males, the hindwing is dull white with a fuscous termen; in females, the entire hindwing is fuscous, with only the base being paler. The aberration ab. hilaris Stgr. is smaller and paler, and the male hindwing is whitish.
