About Thlypopsis pyrrhocoma K.J.Burns, Unitt & N.A.Mason, 2016
Thlypopsis pyrrhocoma, commonly called the chestnut-headed tanager, exhibits strong sexual dimorphism. Males are primarily grey birds with chestnut-brown heads and a black mask. Females are olive green on their upperparts and grey on their underparts, with a faint rusty tint on the crown. The species' song is a series of very bright notes: "pseee-pseee-pseee, twee-tweee-tweee".
