About Therapis flavicaria (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

Therapis is a monotypic moth genus in the family Geometridae, first described by Jacob Hübner in 1823. The only species in this genus is Therapis flavicaria, which was originally described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775. This species is distributed in southeastern and eastern Europe, and ranges eastward to Turkey, Russia, and Georgia. Adults of Therapis flavicaria have a wingspan measuring 26 to 30 mm. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of plant species belonging to the Lamiaceae family, including plants from the genera Lamium and Galeopsis.
