About Tetradium ruticarpum (A.Juss.) T.G.Hartley

Tetradium ruticarpum (A.Juss.) T.G.Hartley is a tree native to China and Korea. It was formerly classified in the genus Euodia under the name Euodia ruticarpa. Its fruit, which is the part of the plant most commonly used, is sometimes referred to as fructus. The fruit has a strong bitter taste, and is used in traditional Chinese medicine; it is also an officially recognized herb in Kampo. Both the former genus name and the species name are frequently misspelled, and this plant is often listed as "Evodia(e) rutaecarpa" in sources that cover traditional Chinese medicine.
