About Tetracis crocallata Guenée, 1857

Tetracis crocallata Guenée, 1857 is a moth of the family Geometridae. Achille Guenée first described this species in 1858. It is found in North America, with its range extending from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, southern Manitoba, and southern Saskatchewan to Alberta, south to northern Florida, and west to Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and extreme eastern Texas. The forewings of this moth measure 17–25 mm in length. Adults are on wing from May to August, with timing differing by location. Populations in New York and areas further south have two generations per year. The larvae feed on species of the plant genera Alnus, Castanea, and Salix.
