Temnothorax longispinosus is a species of the ant genus Temnothorax. It is commonly found in the eastern United States, eastern Canada, and British Columbia. Species in the Temnothorax genus typically have small body protrusions on the sections near the gaster and petiole. Adult Temnothorax longispinosus generally measure between 2 and 2.5 millimeters (0.08 to 0.10 inches) in total length. This ant species most often inhabits forest habitats. Its nesting habits shift across different seasons, but it usually nests inside ready-formed cavities within leaf litter.
