About Telicota augias (Linnaeus, 1763)

Telicota augias, commonly known as the bright-orange darter, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. This species can be found in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Its wingspan reaches approximately 30 millimeters. It closely resembles the species Telicota bambusae, but differs in one key feature: on the upper surface of its forewing, the black marginal border is crossed by yellow veins, which splits the border into distinct individual marginal spots. The larvae of Telicota augias feed on Flagellaria indica.
