It has been recorded in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, North Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, North Africa, India, Pakistan, the Near East, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, South Africa, and Niger. The wingspan of adults of this species is approximately 18 millimetres, or 0.71 inches. The larvae of Tegostoma comparalis feed on the plants Salsola kali and Tribulus terrestris.
