About Tasmaniacris tasmaniensis Bolívar, 1898

Tasmaniacris is a genus of short-horned grasshoppers belonging to the family Acrididae. Only one species in this genus has been described so far: Tasmaniacris tasmaniensis, which is found in Tasmania. This grasshopper is flightless, a condition also referred to as micropterous. T. tasmaniensis is the sister species of all Tasmanian species in the genus Russalpia.
