About Tarchonanthus trilobus DC.

Tarchonanthus trilobus, commonly called the three-toothed camphor bush, is a tree that belongs to the Asteraceae plant family. This species is native to Eswatini, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Within South Africa, it occurs in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. This tree typically grows in bushveld, most often in rocky sites and dry forest. Its leaves are thick and leathery, dark green in color, have a coarsely grooved texture on the upper surface, and are whitish on the lower surface. The species is divided into two varieties: one variety has leaf tips with three teeth, while the other has rolled leaf tips.
