About Tarchonanthus littoralis P.P.J.Herman

Tarchonanthus littoralis, commonly known as the coastal camphor bush, is a shrub to small tree belonging to the Asteraceae family. This species is endemic to South Africa, where it grows along the coast in KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape, and the Western Cape. Its leaves are grey-green, with fine wrinkles on the upper surface, and are whitish, felt-like on the underside, with margins that range from smooth to finely toothed. Crushed leaves of this plant give off an aromatic scent. The plant closely resembles the camphor bush.
