Tantilla gracilis, commonly called the flathead snake, is a species of snake in the family Colubridae. This species can be found in the United States in the states of Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and it also occurs in Mexico. Flathead snakes are small; adult individuals reach a total length of 18 to 20 centimeters, which is equal to 7 to 8 inches. Their diet consists of arthropods, including centipedes.
