The tawny-crested tanager, scientifically known as Tachyphonus delatrii, is a bird species that belongs to the family Thraupidae. This species is found in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and heavily degraded former forest. An analysis of measurements collected from over 200 adult specimens has found positive relationships between latitude and four distinct morphological characteristics of the species: wing length, tail length, bill length, and bill width.
