Syzygium myrtifolium, commonly known as red lip or kelat oil, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Myrtaceae. It is native to Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and the Philippines. This plant grows as a shrub or dense tree reaching 2 to 20 meters (7 to 66 feet) in height, and it is typically found in coastal areas, lowlands, and other wet tropical environments. It is used as a garden, street, and landscaping shrub or tree, valued for its colorful young leaves, ability to tolerate pruning (including for topiary), and fragrant flowers.
