Syzygium buxifolium, commonly called boxleaf eugenia or fish-scale bush, is a flowering plant species in the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It is native to northern Vietnam, southern China, Hainan, Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands, and southern Kyushu, Japan. This plant grows as a shrub or small tree, and it is suitable for use in hedges, containers, and bonsai. It is planted as a street tree in multiple southern Chinese cities.
