About Systasea pulverulenta (Felder, 1869)

Systasea pulverulenta, commonly known as the Texas powdered skipper, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. This species is distributed in North America, ranging from southern and western Texas, southward through Mexico to Guatemala in Central America. Its wingspan measures 24 to 35 millimetres, which is equal to 0.94 to 1.38 inches. In southern Texas, adult butterflies are active from February through December. Larvae of this species feed on a variety of species in the plant family Malvaceae, while adult individuals feed on flower nectar.
