About Syntrichopappus fremontii A.Gray

Syntrichopappus fremontii, commonly known as Fremont's-gold, yellowray Fremont's-gold false woolly daisy, or Fremont's xerasid, is a small annual plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. It produces yellow flower heads, and its native range extends from the Mojave Desert to Utah and northwestern Arizona. This species grows at altitudes between 600 and 2500 meters, in open sandy or gravelly areas. It is often found growing alongside Creosote bush scrub or in Joshua tree woodland vegetation. Its full distribution covers the entire Mojave Desert, the southwest portion of the Sonoran Desert, and areas of northwestern Arizona, southwestern Utah, and northern Baja California.
