Syngrapha ignea, commonly known as the mountain beauty, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species was first described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote, under the scientific name Syngrapha ignea Grote, 1863. It is distributed from northern Alaska southward to southern California and New Mexico, with a separate isolated population in Labrador. It also occurs in small numbers across boreal forest and subarctic regions. The wingspan of adult moths ranges from 29 to 32 mm. Adults are active on the wing from June to August, with the timing varying by location. This species produces one generation per year. The larvae feed on plant species from the genera Vaccinium and Salix.
