Symphyotrichum subspicatum, previously classified as Aster subspicatus, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to western North America, and is commonly called Douglas's aster. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows to a height between 40 centimeters (1+1⁄4 feet) and 120 centimeters (4 feet). The flowers of this species have violet ray florets, and their disk florets are yellow when young and turn reddish as they mature.
