About Symphyotrichum phlogifolium (Muhl. ex Willd.) G.L.Nesom
Symphyotrichum phlogifolium, previously classified as Aster phlogifolius, is a flowering plant species in the Asteraceae family. It is native to the eastern United States, and is commonly called the thin-leaf late purple aster. This species is a perennial herbaceous plant, and individuals can grow to heights between 50 and 130 centimeters, which is equal to 1+3⁄4 to 4+1⁄4 feet. Its flower heads have light to dark reddish-purple ray florets, and white disk florets that feature purple triangular lobes.
