About Symphyotrichum dumosum (L.) G.L.Nesom
Symphyotrichum dumosum (L.) G.L.Nesom is a perennial herbaceous plant that can reach a height of up to 1 meter, or 3 feet 3 inches. It is native to the wild in the Canadian province of Ontario. In the United States, it is native to all states east of the Mississippi River except Vermont, and west of the Mississippi River it is native to Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. It is also native to Hispaniola, the Caribbean island. This species is introduced in New Brunswick (Canada), and in the European countries of Belgium, France, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, and Switzerland. It is not included on the European Union's List of invasive alien species of Union concern. For habitat classification, Symphyotrichum dumosum is listed on the United States National Wetland Plant List (NWPL) with a Wetland Indicator Status Rating of Facultative (FAC), meaning it can occur in both wetlands and non-wetlands and adjust accordingly.
