About Swallenia alexandrae (Swallen) Soderstr. & H.F.Decker

Swallenia alexandrae is a coarse, tufted perennial grass that grows in sand from thick rhizomes. It can be identified by its stiffly erect clumps, sharp leaf blades, and erect pale-colored panicle inflorescences. Also known as Eureka dunegrass, this rare grass is endemic to Inyo County, California.
