About Strigosella africana (L.) Botsch.
Strigosella africana, commonly known as African mustard, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Brassicaceae. It is an annual herb. Its native range extends from the Mediterranean Basin through western and Central Asia, the Caucasus, Ukraine, southern and Eastern European Russia, and Mongolia, reaching as far as India and China. It has become naturalized in other regions outside its native range, including most of western North America, parts of France, Central Europe, and Argentina. It is classified as an invasive species in Nevada and Utah. This annual herb grows as a prostrate patch or clump, with stiff, furry stems that grow up to half a meter long. Its mustard-like flowers range in color from pink to lavender, and they produce siliques (seed pods) that can reach up to 6 centimeters in length.
