About Streptolirion volubile Edgew.
Streptolirion volubile Edgew. is a climbing monocotyledonous flowering plant species that belongs to the dayflower family. This species has a broad native distribution across Asia, ranging from the Russian Far East and Korea, through China, down to Indochina and the Himalayas. Three infraspecific subdivisions of this species are currently accepted. Streptolirion volubile var. angustifolia Aver. is native to Vietnam. Streptolirion volubile subsp. khasianum (C.B.Clarke) D.Y.Hong is distributed from the eastern Himalaya to south-central China and Vietnam; this taxon is a stronger climber than the nominate subspecies subsp. volubile, and is covered in erect brown hairs. Streptolirion volubile subsp. volubile matches the full broad distribution of the species, found from the Russian Far East and Korea through China to Indochina and the Himalayas.
