About Streptanthus carinatus C.Wright

Streptanthus carinatus, commonly known as the lyreleaf jewelflower, is an annual to biennial plant belonging to the mustard family, Brassicaceae. It occurs in the Arizona Upland region of the Sonoran Desert. This species has two recognized subspecies. Subspecies Streptanthus carinatus subsp. arizonicus bears white to cream-colored flowers across its western range, with flower color shifting to a strong yellow in more eastern parts of its distribution. Subspecies Streptanthus carinatus subsp. carinatus produces purple flowers.
