About Streptanthus batrachopus J.L.Morrison

Streptanthus batrachopus J.L.Morrison is an annual herb. It grows a stem that may be branched or unbranched, reaching a maximum height of approximately 20 centimeters, or occasionally slightly taller. Leaves growing near the base of the stem are oval or lance-shaped, with toothed edges. These basal leaves have a somewhat fleshy texture, a mottled pattern, and grow no longer than 2 to 3 centimeters. Leaves positioned higher up the stem are lance-shaped. Flowers grow at intervals along the upper section of the stem. Each flower has an urn-shaped calyx made up of purple or greenish sepals, which reaches up to half a centimeter in length. Purple or purple-streaked white petals emerge from the tip of the calyx. The fruit produced by this plant is a straight or curving silique that grows up to 3 centimeters long.
