Stigmodera cancellata, first described by Donovan in 1805, reaches an adult body length of approximately 33 millimetres, or 1.3 inches. Its elytra are dark greenish in color, marked with six red spots and bordered by red edges, while its pronotum is blackish. The larvae of this species live underground for as long as 15 years. This species is found in Western Australia.
