Stethojulis albovittata, commonly called the blueline wrasse, whitelined wrasse, or rainbowfish, is a species of marine ray-finned wrasse that belongs to the family Labridae.

This is a reef-dwelling species that feeds on small invertebrates.
Geographic Range
It is native to the Indian Ocean, with a range that extends from the Red Sea south to South Africa, and east to the islands of Bali and Sumatra.
Typical Habitat Types
The species can be found on reef flats, in clear lagoons, and on seaward reefs.
Diet Details
It feeds during the day on small invertebrates, especially crustaceans and molluscs.
Additional Recorded Habitats
It has additionally been recorded in rocky areas of Réunion, and in seagrass beds off the coast of Mozambique.
Social Structure
Individuals are either solitary or found in small groups consisting of one male and a small number of females.
