Stephanopis altifrons O.Pickard-Cambridge, 1869 is a species of crab spider that occurs in Australia. Females can reach a body length of up to 10 mm, while males reach up to 6 mm. Their colour is usually brown, any shade of grey, and sometimes black. The egg sac of this species has a diameter of 7.5 mm. It is irregular in shape, camouflaged with debris, and is most often hidden in crevices of tree bark. Each egg sac holds 25 to 30 off-white eggs. The female rests alongside her eggs. This spider appears to feed on other spiders; recorded prey include members of the spider families Salticidae and Hersiliidae.
