About Stephanomeria virgata Benth.

Stephanomeria virgata Benth. is an annual plant that reaches 5 to 30 centimeters in height. Its long stem may be hairless or woolly, and bears dense branches. Lower leaves form a rosette around the plant's base; these leaves are oblong and lobed. Upper leaves are small, linear in shape, and smooth-edged with no lobes. Flower heads grow at intervals along the branches, each containing 5 to 9 ray florets. The fruit is an achene with a pappus made up of white bristles.
