About Stephanomeria exigua Nutt.

Stephanomeria exigua, commonly known as small wirelettuce, is a perennial or biennial plant native to the western United States. It is believed to be the parent species of Stephanomeria malheurensis (Malheur wirelettuce), an endangered plant species that grows only in southern Oregon. Small wirelettuce typically blooms from mid-spring to late summer, producing small flowers that are light pink or light purple. This species is native to arid regions across Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, and it is also found in New York.
