This species, scientifically named Stellaria nemorum L., grows up to 60 centimeters tall and flowers from May through August. Its leaves are arranged oppositely: upper leaves are sessile, while lower leaves have petioles. The flowers are white, bearing 5 deeply bifid petals, 10 stamens, and 3 styles. It is native to Europe, and grows best in wet locations within deciduous forests, including beech forests.
