About Stauntonia hexaphylla (Thunb.) Decne.

Stauntonia hexaphylla, commonly known as Stauntonia vine, is a species of plant belonging to the family Lardizabalaceae. Within Japan, its natural distribution covers Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. Outside Japan, this species occurs naturally in South Korea. It grows wild in mountains, hilly areas, and coastal regions of warm climates. Outside of its native range, it is sometimes planted in gardens to cover shade structures. In Japanese, this species is called Mube, written as ムベ or 郁子.
