About Stachys rigida Nutt. ex Benth.

Stachys rigida, commonly known as rough hedgenettle, is a perennial herb native to the western United States. It can be found growing in foothills, mountains, valleys, and coastal areas, at elevations ranging from 14 meters to 2340 meters. This species blooms between May and July. Two varieties of Stachys rigida are currently classified: Stachys rigida var. quercetorum and Stachys rigida var. rigida. The variety quercetorum is found only in California and Oregon.
