The upper surface of the leaf is dark green, while the lower surface is usually covered with greyish, woolly hairs. Flower heads are arranged at the ends of branches, and the heads are 10โ15 mm (0.39โ0.59 in) across. Both the full flower head and individual flowers have brown bracts at their base. Individual flowers measure 4โ5 mm (0.16โ0.20 in) long and are covered with woolly white hairs. Flowering takes place from late winter to spring. This species is widespread across an area extending from south-east Queensland to Bermagui in New South Wales, and occurs mainly in the region's mountain ranges.
