The large-billed seed finch, with the scientific name Sporophila crassirostris (J.F.Gmelin, 1789), is a species of bird that belongs to the family Thraupidae. It occurs in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, swamps, and heavily degraded former forest.
