Distribution
This species occurs in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Visual Capability Note
Contrary to what its common name suggests, blind mole-rats are not completely blind.

They have simple eyes that are 1mm in diameter, positioned under a layer of skin and fur.

These eyes function effectively as light meters, only capable of detecting the level of available ambient light.
