About Sonchus wightianus DC.
Sonchus wightianus DC. is an Asian plant species classified in the Cichorieae tribe within the Asteraceae plant family. It is widely distributed across much of Asia: it can be found in China, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia, extending as far south as Indonesia. Sonchus wightianus is a perennial herb that grows up to 150 centimeters tall. Many purple hairs grow on its stems and on the bracts around its flower heads. The plant produces flat-topped arrays that contain several flower heads. Each individual flower head holds between 180 and 300 yellow ray flowers, and has no disc flowers.
