About Sonchus brachyotus DC.

Sonchus brachyotus DC. is an Asian plant species belonging to the Cichorieae tribe of the Asteraceae family. It is widespread across most of northern Asia, and has been recorded in locations including Japan, Korea, China, Russia, Mongolia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, and Kyrgyzstan. This species is a perennial herb that grows up to 100 centimeters tall. It forms flat-topped clusters of multiple flower heads. Each flower head contains 170 to 300 yellow ray flowers, and has no disc flowers. It typically grows on grassy mountain slopes and along riverbanks.
