About Solidago uliginosa Nutt.

Solidago uliginosa Nutt., commonly called bog goldenrod, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is distributed across eastern Canada, ranging from Nunavut to Newfoundland and Manitoba, and the eastern United States, occurring in the Great Lakes region, the Northeast, and the Appalachian Mountains south to northeastern Georgia. Historical records note populations of the species in Alabama, but these populations are now thought to be extirpated. Solidago uliginosa is a perennial herb that can grow up to 200 cm (80 inches, or 6 2/3 feet) tall, and spreads via underground rhizomes. A single plant can produce up to 230 small yellow flower heads arranged in a narrow, elongate cluster. This species grows in bogs, marshes, and swamps.
