About Solidago pinetorum Small

Solidago pinetorum Small is a North American plant species in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as Small's goldenrod or pineywoods goldenrod. This species is native to the east-central United States, where it occurs in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. It is a perennial herb that grows up to 110 cm (44 inches) tall, and spreads through underground rhizomes. A single individual can produce up to 350 small yellow flower heads, arranged in a prominent branching cluster at the top of the plant. It typically grows in open areas, most often in pine woodlands located on hillsides.
