About Solidago macrophylla Banks ex Pursh

Solidago macrophylla, commonly called largeleaf goldenrod or large-leaved goldenrod, is a North American species of herbaceous perennial plant in the family Asteraceae. It is native to eastern and central Canada, ranging from Ontario to Newfoundland and Labrador, and to the northeastern United States, specifically New York and New England. Some of its populations in Québec and Labrador grow north of the Arctic Circle. This species is a perennial herb that grows up to 105 cm (42 inches) tall, and has a thick woody rhizome. Its leaves can reach up to 15 cm (6 inches) in length. A single plant can produce 110 or more small yellow flower heads, most of which grow on short side branches.
