About Solidago latissimifolia Mill.

Solidago latissimifolia Mill., commonly known as Elliott's goldenrod, is a North American species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to the Atlantic Coast of the United States and Canada, ranging from Nova Scotia in the north southward to Alabama and Florida. This species is a perennial herb that can grow up to 400 cm (13 ft) tall, and spreads via underground rhizomes. Its leaves are elliptical, and can reach up to 15 cm (6 inches) in length. A single plant can produce as many as 800 small yellow flower heads, arranged in large branching clusters at the tops of its stems. Solidago latissimifolia grows in fresh or brackish water marshes and thickets located on the coastal plain.
