About Solidago juliae G.L.Nesom

Solidago juliae, commonly called Julia's goldenrod, is a species of goldenrod named in honor of Julia Wells Nesom. It is a perennial herb native to central and western Texas, specifically the trans-Pecos and Edwards Plateau regions, along with southern Arizona in the United States, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, and Nuevo León. This plant grows in grasslands, woodlands, and along freshwater shorelines. Individuals can reach up to 250 cm (100 inches, or 8 1/3 feet) in height. A single plant can produce up to 950 yellow flower heads, arranged in a large, showy panicle at the top of the stem. Each flower head holds 9–15 ray florets, which surround 5–9 disc florets.
