Scientific name: Solidago glutinosa Nutt. (synonym Solidago simplex). Solidago simplex is a perennial herb that grows up to 80 cm (32 inches) tall. It has a branching underground caudex, and a single plant system can produce up to 10 stems. Its leaves are long and narrow, growing up to 16 cm (6.6 inches) long, and are produced both on the stem and at the base. A single stem can sometimes produce up to 150 small yellow flower heads. Each flower head holds 7-16 ray florets, which surround 6-31 disc florets.
