About Solidago elongata Nutt.

Solidago elongata, commonly known as West Coast Canada goldenrod or Cascade Canada goldenrod, is a North American flowering plant species that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is native to western Canada, the western United States, and northwestern Mexico. Most of its native range covers British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, and Baja California, with a small number of populations also found in Nevada and Idaho. This species grows in the Coast Ranges, the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades, and other mountain ranges within this broader region. Solidago elongata is a perennial herb that can reach up to 150 cm (5 feet) in height, and spreads via underground rhizomes. A single plant can produce 500 or more small yellow flower heads, arranged in a large branching array at the top of the stem that sometimes droops.
