About Solidago bicolor L.

Solidago bicolor L. is a plant species commonly known as both white goldenrod and silverrod. This species is native to most of eastern North America, occurring in Canada from Manitoba to Nova Scotia, and in the United States in every state located entirely east of the Mississippi River with the exception of Florida. It favors sandy and rocky soils, and is most often found growing along roadsides. It is a distinct species within the genus Solidago. Its stems are thin and wiry. Unlike most other members of the genus, its flowers are white instead of yellow. Most of its flower heads grow clustered in the axils of leaves, rather than arranged in a large terminal raceme.
