About Solidago azorica Hochst.

Solidago azorica Hochst. has stems that grow up to 60 cm (24 in) in length. It produces numerous slightly thick, apicular leaves, and bears a large quantity of small yellow flowers. This species grows in coastal cliffs, lava flows, and sand or stone deposits located on rough terrain. It also grows scattered within coastal meadows that are dominated by Festuca petraea, as well as in heavily exposed habitats, alongside paths, and along stone walls. It can be found at altitudes up to around 500 m (1,600 ft), and up to 900 m (3,000 ft) on the island of Flores. It is present on all nine of the Azorean islands.
