Solanum wendlandii, a species of flowering plant in the Solanaceae family, has the common names giant potato creeper, potato vine, Costa Rican nightshade, divorce vine, and paradise flower. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and northwestern South America. It has been widely introduced as an ornamental plant to other tropical regions, including the Caribbean, Africa, Nepal, Java, and many islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. This is a robust vine that can reach 15 feet (4.6 meters) in length. Its dark purple flowers are long-lasting, and eventually fade to white.
