Solanum stelligerum Sm., commonly known as star nightshade or devil's needles, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Solanaceae family. It is native to eastern Australia. This species is a woody shrub that can grow up to 2 meters (7 feet) tall. It typically grows on sand dunes, in open Eucalyptus woodlands, and along forest edges. Its small red fruit is eaten by Aboriginal Australians, but it is recommended that people only consume this fruit in low quantities.
